Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Agora, in plain language.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms govern your use of Agora. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Agora. Your use of Agora is also covered by our Privacy Policy.
Who can use Agora
You must be at least 13 years old to use Agora. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. One person, one account. You can delete your account and the data tied to it at any time from Settings, as easily as you created it.
What Agora is, and is not
Agora is participation-first civic infrastructure. It brings together the public record of government work and structured participation. It is not a source of legal, voting, or professional advice, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government body or official unless shown as a verified account.
Using Agora responsibly
We ask you to participate in good faith. You agree not to:
- impersonate any person, official, or organization;
- harass, threaten, or abuse others, or post unlawful content;
- spam, manipulate participation, or create fake accounts;
- misuse other people's information, or try to identify individual participants;
- attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, or breach the security of the service.
Moderation on Agora is about civility and authenticity, never viewpoint. We may remove content or accounts that break these terms.
What you contribute
You keep ownership of what you write. By participating, you grant Agora the permission needed to show your input as part of the platform, including as aggregated and anonymized signal to the relevant office, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Official accounts
Records of officials are assembled from public sources and are labeled as such; an unclaimed record is not an endorsement or a statement by that official. Verified officials and their delegated staff are responsible for what they publish through their office.
Government data
The official record on Agora is drawn directly from public government sources and shown without editorializing. It is provided as is, may reflect errors or delays in the original source, and always links back to that source. It is not a substitute for the official record. See About our data.
Availability
Agora is offered on an as-available basis and is currently an early access product. We may add, change, or remove features, and we do our best to keep the service running and honest.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Agora is provided without warranties, and Agora is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
Ending your use
You may stop using Agora and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for accounts that violate these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Agora develops. When we do, we will update this page and, for material changes, let you know. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to the Agora team, and we will respond in plain language.
