The sponsor's argument

Why Toby Ann Stavisky says this is needed

Current law allowing certain provisions relating to physical therapist assistants is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2026. This bill would extend those provisions for four additional years, through June 30, 2030, so that the existing framework may remain in effect without inter- ruption. Continuing the law helps preserve stability for providers and patients while allowing the State to maintain the current approach already authorized in statute. This is an extender bill and does not appear to make new substantive policy changes beyond extending the sunset date.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
