The sponsor's argument
Why Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick says this is needed
The bill aims to enhance public safety by enabling emergency services to communicate seamlessly with the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). This meas- ure addresses potential disruptions caused by train crossings, ensuring efficient coordination between fire departments and the LIRR to prevent delays and prioritize emergency response.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
