The sponsor's argument
Why Nathalia Fernandez says this is needed
Sodium chloride, or saline, is often used by those with asthma and other respiratory illnesses to help relieve symptoms. Although saline is available over-the-counter, the version that is used in a nebulizer requires a prescription. This can cause delays in symptom relief as individuals wait for a prescription to come through. This bill would allow pharmacists to provide saline solution for use in a nebulizer with a non-patient specific order.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
