The sponsor's argument
Why Michelle Hinchey says this is needed
According to the recently released report from the New York State Rural Ambulance Services Task Force, EMS services are challenged in many parts of the state. The report contained numerous recommendations including lack of reporting requirements and the lack of consistency. Specif- ically, there are issues around response times and availability of resources. This challenge is across the state and not just constrained to the rural areas. This legislation will help improve the access to EMS services by provided the necessary data to analysis the true areas of need.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
