The sponsor's argument

Why Jessica Ramos says this is needed

This bill repeals existing labor peace requirements in the cannabis law and instead provides for the creation of a Cannabis Industry Wage Board. This wage board, including representatives of both the industry and labor, will hold hearings, consider public testimony, and make recommen- dations about the minimum wage for cannabis workers, helping to ensure workers in the industry are treated fairly.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
