The sponsor's argument
Why William Weber says this is needed
Chief Hugh (Chaim) Jacobson was a longtime member, past Chief of Depart- ment, and, until his passing, active First Assistant Chief ("7-2") of the Monsey Fire Department's Brewer Fire Engine Company No. 1. Hugh joined the department approximately 28 years ago, inspired by his late father, who was also a longtime member. This highway renaming will honor Chief Jacobson's nearly three decades of heroic service to the Monsey Fire Department and the people it serves.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
