The sponsor's argument

Why Cordell Cleare says this is needed

Many senior citizens, living on a fixed income, are eligible for a partial property tax exemption. Current maximum income for eligibility ranges between $55,700 and $58,400. Nevertheless, seniors earning between $58,400 and $75,000 still face significant financial pressures and would benefit from a partial property tax exemption.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
