The sponsor's argument
Access to emergency contraception, approved as safe and effective by the federal Food and Drug Administration, is a basic measure that can prevent students from having an unwanted pregnancy. College students should have access to information regarding emergency contraception. Medical research strongly indicates that the sooner emergency contracep- tion is administered, the better the chance of preventing an unwanted pregnancy.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
