The sponsor's argument
The Anti-Defamation League reports that incidents of antisemitism in New York State alone accounted for 15.7 percent of all documented antisemi- tic incidents in the United States in 2022, the highest rate of reported antisemitic incidents of any State throughout the nation. The DSA Act requires higher education accredited institutions to implement antisemi- tism awareness and prevention in administrative, faculty, staff, and student sensitivity training seminars. Further, the intent of the Act is to record and provide transparency on the frequency of these incidents which occur on the campuses of higher education institutions, and to actively assist individuals in recognizing and responding to hate and discrimination related to antisemitism on college campuses.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
