The sponsor's argument

Why Jeremy Cooney says this is needed

Pharmacy technicians are essential to the effective and safe adminis- tration of pharmacies throughout the State. They are trained to safely and competently perform a number of tasks in the retail pharmacy setting. This bill will allow pharmacy technicians to perform compound- ing, preparing, labeling, and dispensing of drugs in retail pharmacy settings.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
