The sponsor's argument
The transition from gas powered to electric vehicles is becoming more prevalent as we implement more climate friendly alternatives in lieu of a dependence on fossil fuels in New York State. Currently, available forms of payment at electric vehicle charging stations are made through mobile applications or by a subscription. By increasing the accepted methods of payment, this bill would provide more accessibility and options for electric vehicle owners.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
