The sponsor's argument

Why Robert Ortt says this is needed

Currently, New York State does not require a continued education class for coroners or coroner deputies. This bill would allow them to keep up with the changing science of medical-legal investigation to excel and continue to do the excellent work that they do in the community. This was at the request of the New York State Association of County Coroners and Medical Examiners (NYSACCME).

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
