The sponsor's argument
Why Dan Stec says this is needed
This legislation was introduced following a request by the town council. In its resolution, the council estimated that the additional revenue generated by a local occupancy tax would generate about $1 million annu- ally and allow for continued investment in infrastructure and economic development.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
