The sponsor's argument
Silver Lake Foundation, Inc., formerly known as Silver Lake Temple Asso- ciation, located at 203 Port Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10302 under block 1024, Lot 3, tax map section 5 is a fraternal organization that, through the great works of Silver Lake Lodge No. 59 and Silver Queen Chapter No. 43 has been serving and meeting the needs of the Staten Island North Shore community for over one hundred years. The membership is composed of Prince Hall Masonic affiliated Brothers and Sisters. They go forth into the community and support those in need by hosting events like Thanksgiving feedings, health fairs and expos, providing necessities to local shelters, backpack and school giveaways and gathering residents together to meet with their elected officials to build bonds and bridges , further elevating and progressing the surrounding communities. Silver Lake Foundation, Inc. remains committed to the advancement of the SI North Shore and will forever be the charitable pillar so many have come to lean on over our rich existence.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
