The sponsor's argument
This bill extends the authority of the city of Yonkers to impose a mort- gage recording tax on its residents from August 31, 2025 to August 31, 2027. Because revenues from the mortgage recording tax are included in the city's budget, this extension is necessary in order to help Yonkers maintain financial stability.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
