The sponsor's argument
Raising the retirement age for law enforcement allows agencies to retain experienced officers for longer, which can improve public safety by maintaining a high level of expertise on the force and allowing senior officers to provide stability and leadership roles within the force. It also helps to address staffing shortages by keeping skilled officers on the job longer and potentially reducing the need for extensive, expen- sive training for new recruits.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
