The sponsor's argument

Why Kristen Gonzalez says this is needed

Millions of New York City residents observe Passover and Easter holi- days, which coincide with the slated early voting period for the April 29 special election. To accommodate these holidays, this bill proposes to modify the early voting period for this election to run from April 21 to April 27 with the requirement that the total number of available hours for early voting remain the same as otherwise required by law. Similar adjustments were made to the early voting period for the 2024 Presidential Primary to account for the Easter holiday.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
