The sponsor's argument
TSgt Kory Wade served his nation honorably in the United States Airforce assigned to the 48th Rescue Squadron as a medical logistics Airman. He tragically lost his life in service to our country on June 17, 2023, while conducting a training exercise at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. TSgt Wade's many awards and decorations include the Air and Space Commendation Medal, Air and Space Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and U.S. Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon. TSgt Wade was born in Ontario County and raised in Manchester, graduat- ing from Red Jacket High School in 2008. Upon graduation he felt a call to serve his nation and immediately enlisted in the United States Airforce where he served with honor for 15 years until his untimely death in June of 2023. TSgt Wade enjoyed spending time outdoors, boating with the occasional boating poker run, riding motorcycles and skiing. TSgt Wade loved being around his family and spending time with his beloved dog Kaiser. He was tremendously humble about his service and held a strong compassion for children and animals. Following his death, Governor Kathy Hochul directed flags to half-staff on July 5th and July 6th of 2023 in honor of TSgt Kory Wade. This legis- lation serves as a small way to honor and respect TSgt Wade's ultimate sacrifice for our nation by dedicating portions of State Route 21 in the town of Manchester, county of Ontario to TSgt Kory Wade.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
