The sponsor's argument

Why Jack M. Martins says this is needed

The Syosset Central School District is about to embark on a large build- ing project to deal with the enrollment growth it has experienced. One campus that is bulging at the seams is Berry Hilt Elementary School. The problem with the school is that it is on a very narrow property and there several challenges, which make construction difficult and expen- sive. The property is adjacent to state land. By transferring the State's 3.5 acres of land, it will make it much less challenging to build on the Berry Hill property.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
