The sponsor's argument
The State of New York has the distinction of being the primary doorway to the United State of America for immigrants who come to this country to make it stronger, and more diverse. In this regard, people in the United States of America, and the State of New York, have a strong community and large-community of people who trace their cultural and geographical history to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This state holiday will be another step towards honoring the service, and contributions of Pakistani-Americans who reside in the State of New York. This state holiday will be a testament to recognize the history of Pakistani culture, and the impact of the people who have brought this culture to this country to make it a more perfect union.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
