The sponsor's argument

Why Robert Jackson says this is needed

Correction officers, correction supervisors, deputy sheriff patrol offi- cers and deputy sheriff patrol supervisors perform duties which are as stressful and physically demanding as other police officers and first responders. This bill will provide correction officers, correction supervisors, deputy sheriff patrol officers and deputy sheriff patrol supervisors with the same benefit pertaining to a lung presumption as provided to other police officers.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
