Why Robert Jackson says this is needed
There is currently no accounting or transparency as to how the opioid stewardship fund revenue stream is spent. This legislation provides for a basic financial report of funds disbursed in each quarter, including the names of the recipients, amounts awarded, and the date the funds are received by the recipients.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
