The sponsor's argument

Why Lea Webb says this is needed

This legislation will update existing laws regulating continuing educa- tion requirements for professional landscape architects. Since its enactment in 2005, an increase in online educational resources have changed the way in which continuing education programs are offered. This legislation seeks to make changes to allow the same flexibility allowing landscape architects the opportunity to take full advantage of these opportunities. These changes seek to provide similar flexibility consistent with other professional licenses such as architects, profes- sional engineers, land surveyors, and professional geologists. Addi- tionally, this legislation provides a carry-over credit provision further aligning the law with other professions in NYS.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
