The sponsor's argument

Why Alexis Weik says this is needed

Firefighters put their life on the line every day and risk their lives to protect the people from a fire. The purpose of this bill is to provide relief, aid and assistance to the volunteer members of such corporation.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
