The sponsor's argument

Why Pete Harckham says this is needed

The Village of Mount Kisco has requested the introduction of this legis- lation to extend the authorization for the village to extend its 3% daily room tax on any room in a hotel, motel, or similar place. This tax has been used to raise revenues to support municipal expenses and will continue as such.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
