The sponsor's argument

Why Pete Harckham says this is needed

Jake Acara was a highway maintenance worker who was tragically killed on the job by a motorist who sped through the construction zone. This bill would rename part of route 118 in Jake's honor and for all workers who are killed while maintaining our roadways.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
