The sponsor's argument
Volunteer firefighters too often suffer injuries or death relating to lung disease in the line of duty. As a result, the legislature estab- lished specific procedures to expedite the handling of such claims. This legislation extends the provisions relating to disability due to lung disease until June 30, 2030.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
