The sponsor's argument
Existing alcoholic beverage control law requires applicants for a liquor license to notify the local municipality of their intent to apply. This pre-application notice enables local officials to stay informed and provide updates to their constituents. To enhance transparency, this bill requires that the New York State Liquor Authority notify state assembly and-senate members representing the relevant district within thirty days of receiving a completed application for a liquor license, providing state lawmakers with timely updates on liquor license applica- tions in their district.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
