The sponsor's argument

Why Lea Webb says this is needed

The Village of Trumansburg opted into the NYSLRS 384-d Retirement Plan in 2019 for officers of the Trumansburg Police Department (TPD). Mack- enzie M. Covert, an officer of the TPD, has nevertheless not been included as a member in 384-d. The Village has been unsuccessful in its attempts to seek administrative relief. Legislation is the only remain- ing means to move this officer into the correct NYSLRS Retirement Plan.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
