The sponsor's argument

Why Robert Ortt says this is needed

Volunteer firefighters perform dangerous duties every day to keep our communities safe. They receive no compensation for their efforts in providing reliable protection to our health, wellbeing and property. This was at the request of the South Lockport Volunteer Firemen's Asso- ciation to change to a not-for-profit. This would give the association some form of tax incentives and how to proceed should the association dissolve.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
