The sponsor's argument

Why Michelle Hinchey says this is needed

The City of Hudson requested this legislation to extend the authori- zation for their hotel and motel tax. This authorization is set to expire at the end of 2025, and this bill would extend it through 2027.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
