The sponsor's argument

Why Cordell Cleare says this is needed

As of August 21st, 2025 5 people have died and 109 have been seriously harmed by an outbreak of Legionnaires Disease in Harlem. There is currently a lack of basic knowledge among the populous as to how Legion- naires originates, spreads, infects, spreads and how it can be curtailed, avoided and guarded against. We must make more concerted efforts to empower the public to arm them with solid information on prevention and transmission and to avoid misinformation and fear.

This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
