The sponsor's argument
We have seen an increase of remote and hybrid work arrangements since the COVID19 pandemic, with many employees performing all or part of their responsibilities off-site. These hybrid and remote employees have been left out of the state's paid sick leave program. This has created inconsistencies in accrual practices and has left certain remote and hybrid workers without access to earned leave protections.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
