The sponsor's argument
Why Jeremy Cooney says this is needed
Given the total ban on advertising cannabis products under the current cannabis law affects cannabis illicit market, public information on regulated cannabis operations, tax revenues and economic growth. Adjusting this current provision by limiting prohibitions of advertising cannabis product and services on billboards will help consumers identify licensed dispensaries, help licit market to compete and stand market pressures posed by illicit cannabis market, increase revenues streams to bolster state tax revenues. This will also strengthen rightful dissem- ination of information regarding cannabis products and services and create a balance between public health and economic growth.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
