The sponsor's argument
Christopher Walser, a part-time police officer with the village of Chit- tenango police department, has been granted by the Mayor and Police Chief of the Village of Chittenango, the opportunity to seek an age- based waiver to take the competitive examination to become a full-time officer with the Village's Police Department. This legislation would provide Officer Johnson with the opportunity to test for the full-time position, as approved by the Mayor and Chief of Police.
This is the sponsor's own case for the bill, quoted from their memorandum. It is not Agora's description of what the bill does.
