Summary

This bill would expand delivery worker protections that exist for food delivery workers to cover all contracted delivery workers retained to deliver goods for a delivery service. This bill would require the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) to study the working conditions of contracted delivery workers delivering for a delivery service, and promulgate rules establishing a minimum pay rate for such contracted delivery workers. This bill would also require delivery services to provide additional information to their contracted delivery workers prior to such worker accepting a new delivery. This bill would expand delivery worker protections related to insulated delivery bags, fire safety materials and toilet facility access to all relevant contracted delivery workers. The bill would set forth enforcement options, including those available to the City and to workers, which would apply to all laws relating to contracted delivery workers.
